Resumo
Educational games can be used as a tool to assist in
the teaching-learning process encouraging students to
develop physical and mental skills. Such kits provide
a way of putting into practice knowledge obtained in
areas involving many concepts, as is the case of
software engineering.
Thus, considering the software engineering as a
pretty theoretical discipline, but very important for
computer courses, this work proposes the
development of a board game that helps the software
engineering learning process, encouraging the student
in the classroom.
The game brings a theoretical approach to concepts
and software engineering methodologies, with
questions classified into three levels of complexity
divided into four topics: introduction to software
engineering, requirements engineering, software
production and process models, planning and
management designs and quality, including testing,
maintenance and evolution. This board game has four
pawns, an hourglass, a custom data, a package, a
board and its rules.
The results obtained with the game SoftGame were
satisfactory. It is an uncomplicated game, because it has simple rules. The interaction between the players
organized into teams, is the factor that encourages
fun and healthy competition between them. By
addressing issues related to software engineering,
during the game players are encouraged to challenge
their knowledge to accomplish the tasks present in
this game and come out winners.
